The rights to broadcast IPL live on televisions in America have been given to willow TV. They hold an agreement with BCCI allowing them to broadcast the IPL till 2012.Earlier many broadcasters had the rights to host IPL matches.Neo cricket had done it in 2011. Dish network did their part in 2008 and also in 2011.Direc TV broadcasted IPL all over America from 2008 to 2010. But now only willow TV holds the rights to broadcast IPL matches in America.

The TRP ratings for IPL in America is all set to increase with the mass promotions for IPL. With the global market imagined the BCCI had decided to introduce an international celebrity for the IPL opening ceremony which will be held on April 3 and hosted by the Indian film legend Amitabh Bacchan.
